Cures for the Cookie Monster

Healthy cooking is one of my passions.  I love taking foods that we love to eat and figuring out how I can make them healthy and still taste good.  These are a yummy alternative to cookies. We all enjoy them at our house!

Banana Cookies

Adapted from Allrecipes.com "Healthy Banana Cookies"

Ingredients:
3 ripe Bananas
2 cups rolled oats
1/3 cup applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
dash of cinnamon & nutmeg
1/2 c raisins
1/2 c chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a large bowl, mash banans. Stir in oats, applesauce, vanilla, raisins, and chocolate chips.  Mix well and allow to sit for 15 minutes.  Drop by teaspoonsfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.  Flatten a little as the cookies come out exactly how you put them in.
3. Bake for 15 minutes in preheated oven or until lightly brown.

* You can substitute the raisins and chocolate chips for whatever sounds good to you: apples, craisins, white chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, etc...you get the idea.
